Barbara has worked as a Management Consultant for The Paul Hertz Group (formerly the Deming Method Consulting Group), a quality control firm in Miami, Florida. As lead behavioral consultant, she interviewed employees from company presidents to factory workers in several manufacturing industries, provided feedback on supervisory skills, evaluated organizational climate, assessed organizational readiness for project teams and statistical process control (SPC), developed assessment methods, and helped conduct train-the-trainer (TTT) programs.

Barbara has also provided career/job search and outplacement consulting as an independent consultant and during 18 months working half-time for Right Management Consultants, an international human resources and outplacement firm.

In addition, Barbara has taught at three universities, worked as an academic and career advisor at one university, and worked as a mental health counselor and public education specialist. Her earliest employment was in retailing.
